A more stable preview is here... 2002-10-11
Now that my lovely girlfriend and some other nice people like this I just thought of releasing a more stable preview :) This one has some kind of caching implemented so that your thumbnails are only created once in ${HOME}/.lats2/thumbnails . I also found some routines in eel2 which are very attractive to me because they do most of the nasty things I used to write on my own. If you're coding with gnome-2 or gtk-2 you may find this interesting...

Hello again :) 2002-10-07
Some people asked me for a release of the gnome-2 variant. Well, it's not ready for a release. But I think those who want to know what I'm doing for some time now should have a preview :)

For the impatient:
- grab this archive
- unpack it with tar xzvf lats-2-0.1-20021007.tar.gz
- cd lats-2
- ./configure
- make
- src/lats-2 should start it

Sure, you can also do a make install but it's not necessary - it's a preview - remember! :)
I really hope it works for you... To the right you can also see a first screenshot of it...

HELP WANTED: Somebody please help me out and show me how to write some text to a transparent pixbuf!! Thanks!

No I'm not... 2002-09-25
...gone for good :) sorry ;)

I'm currently planning a Gnome-2 variant. Lats will be completely rewritten while putting all my experience gained over months into it. If there are people, who want me to continue writing on the Gnome-1 variant please email me!!!! So if you want support or features go write an email - it's not that expensive and time-consuming. There's also space for suggestions and feature-requests for lats-2. Now go out and enjoy your day! Life can be hard enough...
By the way, why haven't anyone mentioned me that the email-forwarder on the left contains an invalid email-address? :)) strange day...

Bye!

Hint.. or nearly a bug fix ;) 2002-07-17
Hi everyone!

If you wonder why you can't open .pdf or .ps files with my baby than you might have an older version of acroread! This problem is around lats/src/imageview.c . There's a left-over of my testing period trying to optimize acroreads reading time :) Just delete this string "-transQuality 5" everywhere you find it, do a "make" and get happy :) If you find any other problems, bugs, suggestions or even wishes for lats - please send me an email!

Bye!

Some new screenshots and something to say... 2002-05-28
First I have to say, that I'm very happy to see that some people are interested in my work / fun !! :) Then I have to tell you that I didn't have much time since the last release of my progi.... but I'm still alive thinking about new features! Last time I made a release I promised to get the settings save- and loadable but have not done this, yet. So perhaps there will be a new release with a finally working settings-dialog :) some time around friday or saturday!

Greetz,
